Congrats to Nate!

We are so proud of Nate and how well he has done in law school!   Due to his good grades, he was selected to be on the Moot Court Board (only 10 students per year are chosen).  He will serve on the board for the next 2 years where he will help run and compete in contests much like a mock trial.  He also was chosen to be the tutor for the torts class for the first year law students.  For the next two years he will be teaching a tutor session once a week where he reviews the torts material, as well as holding office hours.  It is a paid position and is very selective so we couldn’t be prouder of Nate for such an accomplishment!  He is truly excelling in law school.  Way to go Nate!

Makenna's birthday bash!

Today we had a friend birthday for Makenna!  We ended up inviting more of our friends than Makenna’s (almost 30 in attendance!), but at this age, the kids of our friends become Makenna’s friends by default.  We held the party at the park and had cupcakes, games & let the kids do sidewalk chalk.  It was a great time!

Makenna turns 2!

Happy Birthday to my 2 year-old sweetheart!!  I can’t believe 2 years has already gone by, while at the same time it feels like Makenna has been in our family forever.  She has been such a blessing in our lives and oh how happy we were to welcome her into our family!  Since that day she has brightened our home with her beautiful smile and bubbly personality.  To start out her birthday today I made some pretty sad attempts at Mickey Mouse pancakes.  However, Makenna was as thrilled as if Mickey was in our kitchen!  She kept saying “more little mouse pancake”!  Nate started cutting his up and giving it to her saying “there’s more mouse pancake”, and she would eat it up like there was no difference!  Guess she doesn’t quite get the concept yet.  At least she was enthusiastic!  Later I took the girls to the pool with some friends followed by a fun family birthday party that night (the video camera got most of the action there).  It was a fantastic day to celebrate a fantastic little girl.  We love you Makenna!

A Wonderful Wolfley Week!

This week the Wolfley’s came up to visit us!!  Richard, Susan and Tyler are all here and we have had a fantastic time so far.  Oh how we love spending time with family!  The girls have been in 7th heaven with all the attention they’ve gotten from grandma & grandpa. We might be in trouble when they leave!

We started their vacation out with a trip up to Silver Falls near Salem.  It was AMAZING!  There is a “Trail of 10 Falls”, a 7-mile loop on which you pass ten absolutely breathtaking waterfalls.  I think they were especially spectacular because it is early in the spring so there was an enormous amount of water coming down.  It turned out to be quite the adventure because about half-way through our hike, it started pouring!  We were all soaked and had to run down a shortcut to the lodge.  We ended up hiding out in there for a little while to dry off while we sipped hot chocolate and apple cider.  What an adventure!!  I loved every minute of it!  When we were ready to go, Nate had to run for the car and drive it closer so that everyone could make a mad dash without getting soaked all over again.  It truly was a downpour!  It was such an exciting day, now I just can’t wait to go back to see the few waterfalls that we missed!

Sunday was Easter and we were thrilled to be able to spend it with family.  We put together a little Easter egg hunt for Makenna, which she loved, and was surprisingly good at!  (Most of the eggs were in plain sight, but she was quick to find the hidden ones as well.)  Nate’s mom also brought the girls Easter dresses which they looked adorable in.  Thank you Susan!  Overall it was a perfect day to reflect on the sacrifice of our Savior as well as the love of family.  What a wonderful Easter!

On their visit we have also been able to spend time at the park and go miniature golfing twice!  The first time we went to Putters indoor golf course, but Nate was in school and unable to join us.  The second time we went to Camp Putt next to Roaring Rapids and it turned out to be a fantastic course!  Tyler is quite the connoisseur of miniature golf courses and he gave it his approval!  It was a creative and neatly designed place that everyone really enjoyed. Nate and Sage were awesome putting buddies – they even won!  (Nate said Sage was his good luck charm.)  Makenna also had a great time, but was mostly interested in the water feature on one of the holes and running around with Grandma.  Guess that’s to be expected from a two year-old!  Overall it has been a fabulous week and we are going to be so sad to see them leave in a couple days.  Tyler and Sage have become great buddies and Makenna is soaking up every minute she has with her grandparents.  It turned out to be great timing because Nate & I have to speak in Sacrament meeting on Sunday and our family will be there to sit with the girls!  Thanks so much Wolfley’s for taking the time to come visit.  We love you!
