Lovin' the every day life!

Well we made it back to Eugene and have been enjoying life with our little family every day.  The girls are getting so big and it is amazing how fast time flies with them.  I thought I’d write down a couple of my favorite random tidbits about each of them.  Sage is almost 4 months old and is such a sweetheart!  She is my little snuggler - which I can’t get enough of.  She adores Makenna and is very patient with her as she tries to stuff inedible things in her mouth, pick her up, etc. (all the things well-meaning older siblings do to the poor smaller ones!).   She is sleeping through the night and learning to like tummy-time.  She keeps us on our toes, but we couldn’t imagine our home without little Sage in it!

Makenna is increasingly obsessed with singing.  She randomly breaks into song anywhere she is – her car seat, high chair, grocery store…everywhere!  She also keeps us smiling with the way she says things like “Satna” and “diaper-dia” (for diarrhea – not such a fun experience, but made so much more pleasant by her announcing that she had ‘darn diaper-dia’!).  Her dad also taught her “Go Utes!” which she’ll blurt out at any given moment!  One of my most favorite recent stories stemmed from her love of pretend calling people.  She usually “calls” Grandma, Daddy or Sydney, but occasionally will call “Satna” or the pizza guy(?).  When she calls for pizza, she’ll say what she wants on it, and then say “money? K bye!”.  It is really cute, but we might need to do a little more explaining of who the “pizza guy” actually is. The other day we were flipping through the Ensign and I asked her who a picture of Angel Moroni was on the temple, without hesitation she said “the pizza guy”!  Hmm…not quite!  Guess they haven’t gone over that one in nursery yet.  She also loves books and pretending to go to school.  Why do they want to grow up so fast?  I’d love for her to stay little forever!  Oh how we love our little fireball Makenna!

Did I mention that Nate’s first semester grades came out?  And that he is in the top 10% of his class?  HOLY COW NATE!!!  Congratulations!  Man, I have an amazing husband.  Did I also mention that law school is HARD?  This sweet husband of mine has been going to school at about 6:30 a.m., studying until 6:30 p.m., eating dinner with us, playing with the girls, helping me get them in bed and then studying again until nearly midnight – almost every day!  And yet he doesn’t complain, but instead asks how he can help me out.  I am so blessed to have such a hard-working, thoughtful and caring husband.  Thanks so much for everything you do, Nate.  We appreciate it SO much and love you even more.
