A Wonderful Wolfley Week!
This week the Wolfley’s came up to visit us!! Richard, Susan and Tyler are all here and we have had a fantastic time so far. Oh how we love spending time with family! The girls have been in 7th heaven with all the attention they’ve gotten from grandma & grandpa. We might be in trouble when they leave!
We started their vacation out with a trip up to Silver Falls near Salem. It was AMAZING! There is a “Trail of 10 Falls”, a 7-mile loop on which you pass ten absolutely breathtaking waterfalls. I think they were especially spectacular because it is early in the spring so there was an enormous amount of water coming down. It turned out to be quite the adventure because about half-way through our hike, it started pouring! We were all soaked and had to run down a shortcut to the lodge. We ended up hiding out in there for a little while to dry off while we sipped hot chocolate and apple cider. What an adventure!! I loved every minute of it! When we were ready to go, Nate had to run for the car and drive it closer so that everyone could make a mad dash without getting soaked all over again. It truly was a downpour! It was such an exciting day, now I just can’t wait to go back to see the few waterfalls that we missed!
Sunday was Easter and we were thrilled to be able to spend it with family. We put together a little Easter egg hunt for Makenna, which she loved, and was surprisingly good at! (Most of the eggs were in plain sight, but she was quick to find the hidden ones as well.) Nate’s mom also brought the girls Easter dresses which they looked adorable in. Thank you Susan! Overall it was a perfect day to reflect on the sacrifice of our Savior as well as the love of family. What a wonderful Easter!
On their visit we have also been able to spend time at the park and go miniature golfing twice! The first time we went to Putters indoor golf course, but Nate was in school and unable to join us. The second time we went to Camp Putt next to Roaring Rapids and it turned out to be a fantastic course! Tyler is quite the connoisseur of miniature golf courses and he gave it his approval! It was a creative and neatly designed place that everyone really enjoyed. Nate and Sage were awesome putting buddies – they even won! (Nate said Sage was his good luck charm.) Makenna also had a great time, but was mostly interested in the water feature on one of the holes and running around with Grandma. Guess that’s to be expected from a two year-old! Overall it has been a fabulous week and we are going to be so sad to see them leave in a couple days. Tyler and Sage have become great buddies and Makenna is soaking up every minute she has with her grandparents. It turned out to be great timing because Nate & I have to speak in Sacrament meeting on Sunday and our family will be there to sit with the girls! Thanks so much Wolfley’s for taking the time to come visit. We love you!
